Welcome to Mountain View Elementary School

Mountain View Elementary School is located on the slopes of Kilauea Volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii. Driving only 14 miles south from Hilo on Highway 11, Mountain View Elementary School stands with a beautiful view to the west of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa mountains, which both reach heights of over 13,800 feet. Mountain View village is within close walking distance of the school campus. This unique area, 1500 feet above sea level, boasts gently blowing trade winds which bring the many cooling showers. These keep our tropical rain forest and surrounding area green and fresh. Mountain View is one of the many fine schools in the Kea'au/Kau/Pahoa (KKP) complex of the island of Hawaii.
